Changes Take Place to Tanking for WoW Patch 4.3

There has been some changes take place to tanking part of World of Warcraft with the release of Patch 4.3. Ghostcrawler and the other members of the development team have stated that they want to change tanking a little bit, and the first part of that was to happen in this patch. The changes which carried through were very straight forward. The three biggest changes are a boost to tanking threat across all classes, a change to vengeance, and a set of abilities standardized across all tank classes via the Tier 13 raid gear. Now, we’d like to talk about changes to vengeance and Tier 13 tanking set bonus.

One of the big changes take place to tanking is to the way that vengeance works for all tanking classes. The change isn’t serious it is a change and has an effect on WoW gold. Vengeance used to grow up very slowly at the beginning of the fight and cost a little time to come into definite effect. Currently, take place of it jumps to 33% of the damage taken by an assault immediately. Also, it will always be at least 33% of the damage taken in the final several seconds. All the old margins are still in place and it still decays as time goes by in the same way, but the original threat it can grant jumps pretty significantly. It means that DPS hasn’t to allow the tank as much time any longer before fighting or going all out. Instead of having DPS until the count of 5 on a boss, it drops it almost down to an immediate start. They should still give the tank some time to get a little bit breathing room, but most will not.

That the tier 13 raid gear has had its set bonuses fundamentally normalized across all tanking classes is the other major changes take place to tanking for WoW. The two piece bonus adds many different forms of a damage shield or mitigation to each single class. The four piece bonus adds a raid wide defensive buff. Yet each classes bonus is a little bit different, and is distinctly based on that classes abilities general they provide much the same prize for every class.

It definitely brings balance to all the tanking classes and allows all of them to deal the much higher damage that is dished out in the Dragon Soul raid. It also allows all tanks to be able to help out mitigating portions of the AOE raid damage that is handled in most of the battles in the new raid. Theoretically this is all totally great, however in fact all it does is homogenize the classes even more than they already are. I understand the need can have all the tanks participate and be useful, however if they all finish being the same, why have 4 different tanking classes, why not just have a tank.

Moreover, players look for the new set bonuses each time a new tier of raid gear is revealed.  They are in a hurry for waiting for the announcement, and then get excited over gathering the gear, free WoW gold and achieving the bonus. Sure it’s useful, and sure the bonuses relate to tanking for a change, but the fact that every class gets the same kind of thing makes it all feel kind of bland.
